Music Monday – June 15, 2026

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…
Spread the love

The World of Splatoon has an incredible microcosm of music in it. Ever since the first game, the soundtrack is filled with banger after banger of songs by fictional bands and although I didn’t start playing until Splatoon 2, I fell in love with the soundtrack. There are many songs that I would probably list as my top songs, and my favorite fictional band is probably Chirpy Chips (Seriously, check out their unofficial cover of Dragostea Din Tei) but they didn’t make the song that I want to talk about today.

Come back with me to September 2024, when the Final Fest for Splatoon 3 was actively going on. As a Splatoon community, we were stoked about the festival coming up, the new venue we will be able to explore (and glitch out of) and all of the hype that comes with the ultimate Splatfest.

There was a moment though during that event that got me.

I talked about this in my article about the Final Fest (linked below) but having the moment where all three of the diva groups from all three games collaborating together just got me incredibly emotional.

Their song, Three Wishes by Now or Never Seven (Callie, Marie, Pearl, Marina, Shiver, Frye, and Big Man), is the song I wanted to highlight this week for Music Monday. The memory of the Splatfest, the time with friends, and the nostalgia of it all just kind of hit me in the right spot today and I wanted to reflect a little bit and share with you.

Here we stand in time, endless past, present and future span
Our wishes are the flame that lights up history

Translated lyrics from the chorus of Three Wishes

It’s a song that talks about the past, the present, and the future (which was appropriate since it was the subject of the Splatfest) and the music is so amazing. Just re-listening to it as I write this, I’m actively getting full-body goosebumps from the song.

Sometimes it’s the past that you get nostalgic for. Looking back at the postive memories and the experiences that you haven’t had. The comfort in those memories can sometimes be something soft you can land on. In the present, there can be people or things or experiences that will eventually become those memories, and looking to the future, it could be an amazing ride with endless possibilities.

Am I ranting now? Possibly. I chose Team Present when we had the Splatfest (I just really like Pearl and Marina, okay?) but it’s really interesting once you listen to something like this that all of these are connected, and the bright light of the future is lit from the things we do in the present and come from the path we’ve paved from the past.

I’m excited for Splatoon Raiders, and what it will expand from the Splatoon Universe, but it will take a lot to top the experience I had at that Final Fest back in September 2024.

What do you think? Do you have a favorite Splatoon band? Favorite Diva? Let me know in the comments or on socials or on Discord!
