    BrushPile Fishing Veterans Tournament

I was tasked with creating the promotional and other graphics for each year of the BrushPile Fishing Annual Veterans Tournament. On top of creating promotional videos, I also created promotional art such as posters, social media graphics, and others.

The tournament entries were placed on BrushPile Fishing’s WordPress Website, with entry payment through our WooCommerce Platform.

I also created a banner to be used as a backdrop for the event in Adobe Illustrator, highlighting the sponsors for the event:

We broadcasted all of our tournament weigh-ins on the BrushPile Fishing YouTube Channel. The setup varied depending on location and staffing.

  • Andy_Bundy Twitch Channel

    Andy_Bundy Twitch Channel

I’ve been creating content online since 2009 from different channels such as BlogTV, YouTube, and Justin.TV. Twitch became a place in which I found a community and I wanted to create a space that’s best described as “sitting in the living room with your brother/sister watching them play games” and have a safe spot for people to hang and vibe.

Managing my own Twitch channel has come with its challenges, both in creating the content, managing the members, and promoting myself.

    Overlays

Most of the overlays created on the Twitch Channel myself were pieced together myself using assets from other video games or through commissioned art, such as the Arcade background that I use in a lot of my content currently. Below are some of the overlays I’ve used through the years:

    Community

My community is constantly growing and with that comes its own set of challenges. I have a Discord Server in which I can have day-to-day interactions with the community when I’m not live on Twitch. I also have some other attempts like a subreddit and a Facebook group, but Discord seems to be the most used.

    Social Media

I have reused my clips from Twitch Streams on social media, like Twitter, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc. I also upload all of my Twitch Streams to a separate VOD channel on YouTube to archive my streams. I also in the past have created campaigns to promote different events on my Twitch Stream, examples below:

Promotion on Splatoon 3 Streams on Instagram
Stream Schedule post from 2021, used Adobe Express to create
Post promoting the “Road to Banjo” campaign that I did on my Twitch channel back in 2019, playing all the games that Banjo and Kazooie were in before the release of Banjo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The Twitch stream is an ongoing project, and I’m always finding ways to optimize the stream and everything that goes with it when time and bandwidth allow!

  • BrushPile Fishing

    BrushPile Fishing

BrushPile Fishing is an educational fishing show hosted by Russ Bailey. The show follows Russ to various lakes around the United States to meet with fellow Crappie anglers to learn about their lakes and their techniques.

My role in BrushPile Fishing was their social media and their web design.

The brand had accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, and YouTube as well as its own website and mobile app on Android and iOS.

I started managing the brand in 2019. I created content and optimized posting for the brand between the different platforms.

The show went all-digital in its eighth season and I was a lead in the process in assisting viewers in finding the content online rather than on television.

I created the TikTok account for BrushPile Fishing as well as redesigned the BrushPile Fishing website through WordPress. The Facebook page I also created a community group to increase engagement and through reels grew the brand from 20k follows up to 47k follows. The BrushPile Fishing Facebook page has reached over 5M people (since 2021) and have had a few popular posts, such as the one below:

A screenshot from Facebook Analytics for a post "Wheeler Lake, AL with Kevin McCarley" that was published on January 1, 2024. The reach is 47,691 and the 3-second views are 15,129. There are 1,673 1-minute views and 18,314 minutes viewed. There are also 399 reactions, comments and shares. A chart is shown depicting the reach of the post over time.

The TikTok account for BrushPile Fishing also had some viral moments, especially when using content with guests such as B’n’M Poles Pro Staff John Godwin, who is better known from his time on Duck Dynasty.

In the time that I’ve helped with BrushPile Fishing, I also redesigned the WordPress website, which not only hosted the episodes but also has an entire eCommerce module through WooCommerce.
